Jan Ostby MSc, DBM Managing Director
Jan graduated in 1982 with an MSc in Civil Engineering and Geophysics from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg. In 1988 he received a University Diploma in International Marketing and Business Management from the Norwegian School of Trade and Export, Oslo.
From 1982 to 1985 Jan held various marketing positions with Fugro Geoteam until he became responsible for all marketing and tendering of Fugro Geoteam projects. In 1988 he became Manager of the Petroleum Exploration Department responsible for all non-exclusive geophysical, geochemical and geological activities. In 1989 Jan became the first General Director of Sevoteam (a joint venture between the Soviet Ministry of Geology and Fugro Geoteam) being responsible for all business development.
Jan moved to Perth, Australia in 1992 and became the Managing Director of PGS Nopec Australia. He left PGS Nopec in 1996 to become a founding partner in Seismic Australia. Seismic Australia was acquired by Fugro in July 2000, where Jan worked as a Geophysical Projects Manager and identified, designed, operated and marketed multi-client seismic projects. Jan worked in the role of Managing Director of Fugro Multi Client Services (formerly Seismic Australia) from 2004 to 2005.
Jan has been the Managing Director of Finder since 2005.
Dariusz Jablonski BSc Exploration Manager
Dariusz received a BSc in geology from the Western Australian Institute of Technology in 1985. He joined Woodside Offshore Petroleum where he worked as a basin analyst on acreage assessment, risk analysis, play map generation and building geological databases covering the Westralian Superbasin, the Perth Basin, South and Eastern Australia, Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea.
Between 2001 and 2005 he was involved as a contractor in prospect generation and evaluation of exploration acreage in Australia, Ukraine, East Africa, Mediterranean, UK and Middle East.
Dariusz is the author of a number of publications covering the Australian North West Shelf, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
Dariusz has been with Finder as Exploration Manger since 2006.
Craig Moore Gumley B.Sc (Hons) – (Geology/Geophysics) Operations and Joint Venture Manager
Craig is a highly qualified petroleum geoscientist with 25 years of technical and management experience. During his 17 year career at Santos he developed extensive operational expertise through projects in a variety of basins throughout Australia and the United States with focus on regional basin and prospect evaluation delivering exploration success. Prior to joining Finder in January 2009 he was Managing Director of Kairiki Energy Limited, delivering Kairiki’s first two exploration well successes in 2008.
Craig has a Bachelor of Science in Geology and also a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geophysics from the University of Adelaide. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG).
Shane Westlake MSc (Hons),
Technical Project Manager
Shane graduated from Royal Holloway University of London with a MSc (Hons) geoscience degree in 2001. He joined PGS Reservoir in 2002 as an interpretation geophysicist. where he worked on the PGS MegaSurvey projects in the North Sea and the Australian North West Shelf, in particular the Vulcan and Carnarvon Basins.
Shane joined Finder in 2007 as a senior interpretation geophysicist and is actively involved in projects in the Browse Basin, Papua New Guinea and the Caribbean region.
Don Pyke B.Comm Commercial Manager
Don worked with Ernst & Young for 5 years and has over 12 years commercial experience in the oil and gas industry.
Don joined Jan at PGS Nopec in 1994 as the Financial Controller and left in 1996 to become a founding partner of Seismic Australia. Seismic Australia successfully designed, operated and marketed non-exclusive projects throughout Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and offshore Brazil.
The partnership was acquired by Fugro in 2000 (now known as Fugro Multi Client Services) and Don was the Managing Director of Fugro MCS for 4 years.
