FARM-IN OPPORTUNITY
Frontier Area – Large Targets – Large Blocks – New Data 50% Finder Exploration & Operator
50% Flow Energy Limited
Surface area: ~14,500km2 Water depth: 0-2000m Finder holds a 50% interest in Block 6, 7, 10, 11, and 12 in the Walton Basin offshore Jamaica. Finder is in joint venture with Flow Energy Limited, which holds the remaining 50% interest in the Permits. The five Permits are covered by separate Production Sharing Agreements (PSA).
Farm-out
The joint venture is currently offering equity interest in this under-explored area, plus the flexibility to contribute to the final design of the work program leading to the exploration drilling campaign. Operatorship is also available for the right farminee. To see Jamaican farmout flyer click here, the APPEX 2010 Jamaican farmout presentation click here, or the APPEX 2010 Jamaican poster click here. Exploration Highlights
Newly acquired seismic and gravity data has been interpreted and integrated into a refined geological model which has significantly enhanced the prospectivity of the area. A number of prospects and leads within multiple play levels have been identified.
Active petroleum system: numerous hydrocarbon seeps have been identified both onshore and offshore and post well analysis show that hydrocarbons were encountered by 10 out of 11 wells drilled in the area.
Regional geology: New insights into the depositional styles in the Walton Basin have developed following a review of the plate tectonic history of the area.
Hydrocarbon potential: the hydrocarbon potential of the frontier Walton Basin remains untested but exhibits play types akin to the Gulf of Mexico.
Large targets: seismic interpretation has identified a number of large prospects with the potential of >1Bbls OOIP in water depths ranging from shallow to deep.
New data: new 2D seismic data and Falcon gradiometry data was acquired in 2006 and all relevant pre-existing 2D seismic data in the area has been reprocessed and, in 2010, the 2006 long offset 2D seismic data was reprocessed using pre-stack depth migration (“pSDM”).
New Commercial Environment
Gas is not “second prize”. Jamaica has a growing energy demand, predominantly for use in its electricity generation and bauxite mining industries and there is a planned gas facility at Port Esquival on the southern side of the island. |
